STERIS® Pressure Reduction System (PRS) Surgical Table Pads

STERIS® Pressure Reduction System (PRS) Surgical Table Pads
  • Offer excellent pressure management to reduce the potential for tissue damage and pressure ulcers while providing comfort for the patient
  • Offer minimal attenuation of fluoroscopic X-ray for clear image quality
  • Reduces the risk of disease transmission in the Operation Room (OR) by eliminating hook-and-loop material on pad
  • Manufactured with ultra-sonically welded seams to prevent fluid intrusion
STERIS Pressure Reduction System (PRS) Pads are premium pressure management tabletop pads for surgical tables designed for patient comfort and help in the prevention of pressure ulcers during surgery. STERIS PRS Pads feature mushroom caps instead of hook-and loop-fasteners, and are designed to simplify the placement, removal, and cleaning of tabletop pads.
How STERIS Pressure Reduction System Pads Work
STERIS Pressure Reduction System (PRS) Pads offer a unique alternative to standard TLT (Tri-Layer Technology) pressure management pads in the way they attach to the surgical table. STERIS PRS Pads are the first table pads available from STERIS without hook-and-loop (VELCRO®-brand) fasteners and instead, PRS pads use a unique metal retainer to secure the pad to the tabletop surface. There are ten mushroom caps on the table surface to retain the mattress pads via corresponding rubber cups on the pad’s underside that mate with metal retainers.
The reduction or complete elimination of hook-and-loop fasteners is important for the modern Operating Room. Hook-and-loop material on surgical pads can be challenging to clean and disinfect properly as it can be contaminated with tape residue, fabric particles, and becomes very difficult to clean when soaked with blood or other bodily fluids.
